Toasting（敬酒）have various meanings behind it and lots of proper ways of doing it. First of all, toasting to someone means goodwill or honor of them. There are rules that you have to follow and that there is meanings and proper ways behind it. For example, “感情深，一口闷； 感情浅，舔一舔“ means that if you know that person really well you would drink the whole cup of drink at once to show that you view them as a very good friend and that you know them really well. But by sipping the drink just by a little bit means that you don’t really know that person well or just don’t care about them. Also, when you cheer with another person, always use both hand to lift the cup up and when your cup touch the other’s cup your cup should be a little bit lower than theirs. The reason behind this is because this shows that you give them respect and shows that you have good manners. Furthermore, when you cheer with another person you should say “我干了，你随意,” which means i’ll drink mine and you do whatever, showing that you are very generous
